This year has been an unusual one for me. The past few years I was able to travel across Canada to pursue my wildlife photography goals. This year apart from 3 short trips to Algonquin Park my shooting has been done on my property in Niagara. There are stories to go with most pictures I take but this year the days have blurred into one another. After having to cancel my trip to Jasper and Banff this year it a great joy to be able to make 2 short Fall trips to Algonquin Park this year as well as one trip in early December. I call Algonquin Park ‘my patch’ since I usually spend more time there shooting than anywhere else. The 5 hour drive is always worthwhile. I had fun trying to capture an image of this pine martin. I got a glimpse of it in a clearing but several vehicles pulled up and people started chasing the creature. I got out of the way and watched from the other end of the clearing. What I didn't know at the time was that the little guy had worked his way around and was directly behind me. I slowly turned around and managed a couple shots. Later as I returned to my truck planning to come back when the spot was quieter I noticed the little guy under a truck and then on the wheel well. What a character.
